TRANSPARENCY / PRIVACY

Limitations, consent and data handling

Moo-Labs is a research and decision-support prototype, not a certified diagnostic medical device or healthcare provider.

Personal health data

The upload handler reads user-supplied files during the request and does not intentionally retain the file after completion. It returns extracted text to the browser. General literature queries are sent to selected external research APIs; user-supplied case notes are sent only to the configured loopback Ollama endpoint. Server, web host, proxy and browser logs may still exist. Do not use identifiable patient information until a formal privacy/security assessment is completed.

Diagnostic limitations

Clinical determination requires a licensed healthcare professional. No CBC or blood chemistry panel is a standalone psychiatric diagnostic test. Optional local model-assisted image descriptions can be requested for JPEG/PNG and supported DICOM preview frames, but these descriptions are unvalidated and do not establish a diagnosis. Multi-series studies require complete professional radiology interpretation. Scores and certainty percentages from a generic model would not be calibrated clinical probabilities, so the application intentionally does not display them.

Licensing

DSM-5-TR and commercial medical textbook full text are not bundled. NLM, NCBI, Open Library and other API terms must be followed and reviewed. A book being indexed does not imply that its content is free to reproduce.

Deployment caution

Enable HTTPS, rate limits, updates, access controls, vulnerability testing, and appropriate legal/compliance review before collecting real patient information. HIPAA compliance is not established by this application.
