Heritage and Culture of Desert - Rajasthan The “Land of Kings” is the translation of “Rajasthan”. One of the most visited destinations of India. Jaisalmer, famous for its golden fortress (one of the largest living fort), its majestic palaces (Havelis), fossil park, desert sand dune safaris-camps, desert national parks, Jain temples. The city is known as Golden City. Jodhpur, famous for world’s one of the best heritage 5 star hotel Umaid Bhavan Palace, It is called as Suncity for a huge area of bright blue houses at the foothills of mehrangarh fort. Seventh wonder of the world – Taj Mahal Agra, home to three world heritage sites, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort & Fatehpur sikiri. The Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble marvel. A mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan (reigned 1628–1658),in the memory of his favorite wife, MumtazMahal. The tomb is the centrepiece of a 42-acre complex, which includes a mosque and a guest house, and is set in formal gardens bounded on three sides by a wall. One of the 10 paradises of the world by National Geographic – Kerala Kerala is a state located at south-western coast of India. It was nicknamed as one of the "10 paradises of the world" by National Geographic. Kerala is known for its serene backwaters and pristine beaches such as Kovalam, Tea County, Munnar Hillscape. From the green scapes of Idukki to buzzing city of Kochi Kerala has its diverse range of tourist spots. Popular attractions are beaches at Kovalam, Kappad, Muzhuppilangad, Cherai and Varkala; the hill stations of Munnar, Thekkady, Ramakkalmedu Nelliampathi, Ponmudi and Wayanad; forts like the Bekal Fort in Kanhangad and St. Angelo's Fort in Kannur and the National Parks/ Wildlife sanctuaries at Periyar and Eravikulam. The "backwaters" is an extensive network of interlocking rivers, lakes, and canals that centre on Alleppey, Kumarakom, and Punnamada also see heavy tourist traffic.
